Photographed at Sipes White Mountain Wildlife Area between Nutrioso and Springerville Arizona. More precisely, this is the Short Horned Lizard, a sub-species of the Desert Horned Lizard which is more commonly (and mistakenly) called the Horned Toad, although toads don't have tails! These little guys are very good at blending in with their surroundings, and are built like armored tanks! July, 09
