Nelson Reservoir 3
The south end of Nelson Reservoir is a water fowl nesting area, as well as a heron sanctuary. The north end is open for fishing and no wake boating. In the past several years the water level of the reservoir has been so low because of the draught that the nesting area was almost destroyed. 2008 was like the winters of old...with over 20 ft. of snow, and this summer has been heavy with rain, so the reservoir is back up to a healthy level. It's not uncommon to see golden or bald eagles and osprey flying over head searching for fish (and the trout fishing is fabulous).
