The Narrows is located between Grants and Quemado New Mexico in the El Malpais National Conservation Area. There is a huge lava flow from Mt. Taylor that extends as far as the eye can see in one direction, and across the two lane road are tall ragged rock cliffs. On top of the cliffs is the Narrows Rim Trail. New Mexico July, 09
