Petra-Rainy Day in the Siq 1190
Narrow siq or passageway through the sandstone mountains to and from the ancient city of Petra, Jordan. Centuries ago the Nabataens carved aquaducts into the sandstone at the bottom of the sides of the passageway to capture the rain water and direct it to the ancient city. The water was then collected in natural or carved cisterns.
