Early Snowfall
Oct. 8, 2009 (autumn...notice the remaining golden aspen leaves) we started out from Jacob Lake driving to the north rim of the Grand Canyon for the sunrise. We left the camp about 5:30 a.m. and drove through the Kaibab Forest...through a white-out snow storm. You couldn't see a foot in front of the car, and we were worried about deer and elk crossing the road. We got to the rim of the canyon just as the sun was beginning to hit the cliffs...at about 6:30 a.m. If you ever thought of Arizona as only desert...well...look again my friend! Although this picture was taken in the autumn, it would make a wonderful Christmas card.
