Calliope
The calliope is the smallest of all the hummingbirds. This is a female and the expert is showing the bird's dark red throat stripes against the white neck feathers...the only North American hummingbird to have this feather configuration. The male has very dark red thicker stripes. It is also the only hummingbird with wings longer than tail. Arizona. July, 2009
